Thread Lace & Beyond
Students will be introduced to a variety of wash away products and some education on needles, threads, feet and appropriate hoops. After Christina demonstrates various thread lace techniques, students, depending on their knowledge base, will create small sample/s of their choice.
Techniques to be demonstrated:
Netting and threads
Traditional thread lace
Weaving ribbons
Thread sketching
Programme stitches
Embellishments, layered
Adding wire
Creating structures
Bobbin work
Types of wash-a-way products students will be introduced to:
Wash away film (various thickness)
Sticky back wash away
Fabric wash away
Paper wash away
Workshop Options
One Day Workshop
Students will have the option of three techniques, depending on their skill level; from learning the art of creating the basic thread lace to adding wire.
Two Day Workshop
Students will cover a minimum of six techniques using more of a variety of stabilizers with the option of creating a structure.
Requirements
All levels welcome, however, experience dropping feed dogs an asset.
